Hope Nursery School & Child Care

Hope Nursery School and Child Care Center is designed to provide quality child care along with comprehensive education.  Our staff plans a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of each child.  Our lesson plans encompass the early learning content standards devised by the Ohio Department of Education.  Several activity centers are provided, including dramatic play, music, language arts, science, blocks, manipulatives, and outdoor play.  The teachers at Hope Child Care realize that children learn at their own pace.  The process, not the product, is emphasized in order to foster a sense of accomplishment and pride.

We offer a preschool full day program ( 6:00 am - 6:00 pm), a preschool morning program ( 9:00 am - 11:30 am), and a before and/or after primary school program.  Hope Child Care also offers full day care for school-age children when Anthony Wayne is closed or canceled.

Hope Nursery School and Child Care Center is open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm each day, Monday through Friday.  Hope is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday,  Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day (and the day after), and Christmas.  With the exception of the day after Thanksgiving, all of these are paid holidays.

Our preschool classes are divided according to age.  We have one classroom for ages 2 1/2 to early 3, one classroom for ages 3 to early 4, and two classrooms for ages 4 to 5 (pre-kindergarten).  We also have two school-age classrooms.  Our facility also has two gyms and two fenced in playgrounds.

Hope Nursery School and Child Care Center observes the following staff/child ratios.

Toddlers 2 1/2 - 3 years 1:8
Preschool 3 years 1:12
Preschool 4 and 5 years 1:14
School-age K-6th grade 1:18

Hope Child Care considers field trips an integral part of our educational curriculum.  There is an activity fee charged yearly to cover the field trip expenses.  Field trips will be taken periodically to nearby locations, such as parks, libraries, the zoo, and the fire station.  The children will be transported on the Hope bus.  Parents are welcome to join us on these experiences.  Notification of field trips will be published in the monthly newsletter, on our facebook page, and on this website.

Hope Child Care provides a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack along with a well-balanced lunch.  These meals provide the basic food groups and one-third of each day's nutritional needs.  Snacks are served at approximately 9:30 am and 2:30 pm.  Lunch is served at 11:45 am.  The Nursery School (9:00-11:30am) children may stay for lunch for an additional fee. Menues are posted on the office door.
